Artist, Gabrielle (Gabby)
When other children dreamed of being a firefighter or veterinarian, I wanted to be an artist. Thankfully, my parents encouraged my interest in the arts. In college, I enjoyed learning the human form through figure drawing. My college years are cherished because I was surrounded by so much creative energy.

I chose Illustration as my major because I enjoy illustrating books for independent authors and bringing their characters to life. I currently freelance as a graphic designer, illustrate children's books, teach art for a non-profit and
make mixed media art incorporating paint, textiles, found objects and jewelry design.

This is a discussion with my collaboration partner and brother, Dorian "Paul D" Rogers, at the 2022 Smithsonian Folklife Festival Discussion on 7/3/22 about our book "The Million Mile Stare" (available on Amazon)
